There is also Hulme grammar fee-paying school
providing education for 3-18 year olds in Oldham and for further education Oldham College has a wide range of courses.
The town offers all the local amenities you need including a large supermarket, a post office and a health centre. Plus, for more hard to find items you can always visit the lively Wellington Street market, the perfect
place to find just what you’re looking for. In addition to all this there is Chadderton Sports Centre featuring a wide range of facilities with activities for all ages, from swimming to roller-skating.

You’ll soon realise that the family will never be short of things to do, close by is Chadderton Hall with its attractive gardens and park which offers tennis courts, bowling greens and an enclosed children’s play area. If you appreciate exploring the great outdoors then there are walks to suite all from a tranquil stroll along the Rochdale canal to the long distance footpath of the Pennine Way.
Situated 1.5 miles away from the Cottons development is Oldham town centre offering an even wider range of facilities. For those who enjoy shopping, Oldham’s pedestrianised centre is a great place to spend the day. What’s more, it is home to The Spindles, an impressive state-of-the-art centre providing nearly 50 shops from major high street names to independent boutiques. If you like to find something a little different then the refurbished Tommyfield Market Hall and the traditional outdoor market are the places for you.
For a day out with a difference there is the art gallery - Gallery Oldham, which is one of the most innovative galleries in the North West. Here you’ll find a variety of exhibitions from contemporary art to work produced by
local communities. Afterwards you could take in a show at The Oldham Coliseum Theatre, with plays for all ages. Or if it’s a night out for just the two of you, then the wide mix of local pubs, bars and restaurants has something to tick every box.
